Top Cafes In Ottawa!

1. Little Victories For The Coffee Snob In Ottawa

Little Victories is somewhat of an Ottawa chain these days, but for good reason. It started out in the Glebe, but now they’ve opened up into this INCREDIBLE building on Elgin Street, just a few minutes walk from Parliament.

They have unique coffee roasts and a variety of teas to choose from, and the vibe is one that will make you want to hang out there all day.

But! What sets Little Victories a part from other cafes in Ottawa is that you can order a coffee flight! This is the first (and so far only) place I’ve seen do this.

A coffee flight at Little Victories offers you a taste of three different beans prepared in three different ways. Each brew method os meant to highlight the bean. They give you an espresso, piccolo (espresso with a bit of milk), and a pour over coffee where you can choose the specific bean you want to try).

I recommend sharing the coffee flight as it can be quite a bit of caffeine for one person. But if you’re a coffee lover this was quite an enjoyable experience!

2. Ottawa Coffee Shop For The Best View: Equator

Right across the street from Little Victories is another must go to Ottawa cafe: Equator.

It’s actually inside the National Arts Centre of Ottawa so it has a completely different vibe, if you’re looking for a cafe to actually get some work done, Equator is a good Ottawa coffee shop for that!

They also roast their own beans and offer a selection of sandwiches. But the best part about Equator is that you get the best view of Ottawa. With its large windows, you look right out onto the split of Elgin Street.

You can actually see Little Victories from here and admire the outside of the building – which is gorgeous! Plus, you can see the Fairmont Le Chateau Laurier, the War Memorial, and Parliament from here.

3. La Bottega For To-Go, Quick & Tasty Coffee!

You might walk by this place and think nothing of it. Probably even pass it a second time and never think twice. I mean that’s what I’ve done countless times before!

At first glance, it looks like a simple grocery store in Byward Market – and it is! But, if you’re looking for a good coffee on the go (and a filling sandwich while you’re there), there’s really no better place to go.

If you go past the grocery section, towards the back, you’ll notice a cafe set up (with a butcher and a lot of cheese! You’ll get great coffee, and if you want they’ll make you a (giant) fresh sandwich.

The main downside is that there’s nowhere to sit inside. So it’s the perfect place for a quick stop before getting right back to exploring Ottawa.

4. Taste Nitrogen Cold Brew At The Ministry Of Coffee

If you’re looking for another unique Ottawa coffee shop experience, head to The Ministry of Coffee.

They have two locations near downtown; one on Elgin and on Wellington.

If you’re visiting in the summer, you have to order their nitrogen cold brew straight from the tap! Have you ever had coffee like this before!? ⁣

5. Spend Time At Zoe’s For Afternoon Tea In Ottawa

Zoe’s is the ultimate afternoon tea experience in Ottawa. Although it seems pricey at first, you can split it with someone for only an additional $20.

Don’t worry, it’s more than just a splitting fee too. They add in an extra pot of tea and two more scones.

At Zoe’s, they’ll try to seat you next to the floor to ceiling windows so you have a view. But the inside isn’t too bad either!

P.S. You can also keep track of you afternoon tea experiences with my afternoon tea logbook. See it on Etsy here!

6. Bubble Tea Ottawa: Meow Cafe

Is a Cafes in Ottawa list even complete if it doesn’t include a bubble tea stop!?

On Elgin, Meow Cafe is my go-to bubble tea spot! Order a classic milk tea, or try a new flavour! They offer several pearl options and teas.

Plus, it’s cat themed… you can never say no to that!

7. Spot The Mobile Coffee Truck: No Go Coffee Co. Ottawa

If you’re lucky to be visiting Ottawa at the right time (and place) you might be able to go to a mobile coffee truck.

I can’t say I’ve ever been to one! I tried No Go Coffee roasts at one of the Ottawa Markets and now I’m waiting to spot the truck, but it’s constantly on the move throughout the city!

Check where they are while you’re visiting here.
