Scotland Travel Guides

Scotland has become one of my favourite countries to visit. Visiting Edinburgh for the first time for only 2 days, I knew I had to go back. That’s how I ended up living in Edinburgh for an entire month, giving me the opportunity to explore the city and its surroundings.

Scotland is the ultimate vacation spot for history buffs, outdoor adventurers, and tartan lovers! The country has countless castle ruins and a rich history, vast mountains to hike and get lost in, and of course, everything tartan.

Here are my Scotland travel guides that I’ve written based on my experience exploring this wonderful country to help you better plan for your next Scottish adventure.

Psst! This page contains affiliate links in it which sends me a bit of extra money if you use them… at no extra cost to you!

Edinburgh Travel Guides

I’ve been to Edinburgh Scotland twice now, and can even go back a third time. The city is small enough that you can visit in one day, but it has so much more to offer. My Edinburgh travel guides will cover what to see, when to visit, and even a few hidden gems you’ll want to make some time for.

Edinburgh Hotel Recommendations

I stayed at an Airbnb for a month in Edinburgh just across from The Meadows. For shorter stays, I found these accommodations to stay at for every type of traveller.

Best Location & Price: Just down the street from the Royal Mile Motel One Edinburgh – Royal is a short walk to all the main attractions. See room rates & availability.

Modern & New Apartment: Stay in Edinburgh’s New Town at Golden Thistle Apartment to live like a local. It’s offers a beautifully renovated modern apartment with cafes and bars at your fingertips! See room rates & availability on Plum Guide.

Luxury: The Balmoral Hotel is Edinburgh’s finest hotel but nothing compares to it. J.K. even stayed here to finish writing the Harry Potter Series. Maybe you’ll get lucky and stay in the same suite! See room rates & availability.

Planning On Driving Through Scotland? Read These Tips First!

There is so much to see in Scotland, but it isn’t all convenient to get to. It’s very common to rent a car and drive through the Highlands, Scottish Borders, or Trossachs National Park to name a few.

But!

Before renting a car so quickly, you may want to read these tips first! Our experience was very mixed driving through Scotland, and I’m not so sure we would do it again…
