It’s very tempting to want to do a day trip between both cities. Montreal and Quebec City are just under a three hour drive from each other. Making it a doable day trip… but that doesn’t mean that it should be done!

There are three main islands that you can visit: Wards, Hanlan’s Point, and Centre Island. The islands offer a city escape with an unbeatable skyline view and relaxing beaches. Oh, and did I mention there’s also a hidden amusement park on Centre Island!?
The main highlight in Yamachiche is the nature park. Right off the highway, there’s a nature reserve that you can walk around and explore. It’s a true Québec hidden gem that’s definitely worth the trip to.
Girona (the city) is a lovely day trip from Barcelona. This small medieval town in the province of Girona in the North of Spain just a 30 minute train from Barcelona. It makes an easy day trip with picturesque views and links to Game of Thrones.
Figueres is an interesting Spanish city to visit. It’s by no means the prettiest or cutest Spanish town I’ve seen. There also isn’t too much to do there. But, if you’re interested in Salvador Dali, then a day trip to Figueres is a must!
Spending a day in Montserrat is a no brainer in my mind if you’re visiting Barcelona. Only 45 km from the city, it’s one of the easiest and worthwhile day trips you could go on.
Despite having a shaky past, Marseille has been on an upward trend since 2013. So if you know where to go, and plan your visit, the city has a lot to offer. So if you’re visiting Provence in the South of France, you should definitely add a day in Marseille to your itinerary.
Leuven is the perfect mini escape from the big city hustle of Brussels. Despite its small size, there’s a bit of something for everyone to enjoy: history, beer, shopping, and more!
Luxembourg City (in Luxembourg) is one of the only cities with the same name as their country. But the surprises (and fun facts) about this beautiful city don’t stop there. There’s loads of history and out of this world views during a day trip from Brussels to Luxembourg.
We visited Budapest in one day from Vienna, so don’t worry if you only have one day to explore the city. Budapest has a lot to offer, from unlimited history, breathtaking views, and thermal baths to relax in!
