Places To Stay In Prince Edward County
There are three small communities in Prince Edward County that you can stay in: Picton, Wellington, and Bloomfield.
Picton Ontario is the largest of the three communities, and that says a lot about the others, because it’s quite small!
Hotels In Picton Ontario
Even though Picton Ontario isn’t all that big, it’s the most town-like of the three!
If you’re looking to stay near certain amenities like restaurants, pharmacies, and shops, Picton would be where to stay. It is the most convenient place to stay in Princes Edward County Ontario as you can walk pretty much anywhere!

1. Top Choice: Merrill House
Merrill House is very centrally located in the Picton town centre.
It’s a clean boutique hotel (meaning every room is different!). So Merrill House gives you small town bed and breakfast feels with the security of a hotel.
They have a 24 hour front desk and serve a daily breakfast.
2. Top Trending: The June Motel
The June Motel has risen to popularity in the last few years due to the hit Netflix show Motel Makeover.
This is no ordinary motel, it has all the Instagram worthy photo ops with pink painted doors, cute neon signs, and more!
But, it’s still a motel off the highway, and isn’t really in walking distance to Picton.
On the positive side though, you get to brag to your friend that you stayed at the June Motel!

Wellington Hotels In Prince Edward County Ontario
Even though Wellington is even smaller than Picton, it has some of the top hotels in Prince Edward County, with the most reviews and highest ratings.
Where to stay in Wellington Ontario depends on the kind of getaway you’re after! But it is the closest neighbourhood to the water, so you can either stay closer to the town, or on the water!

3.The Newsroom Suites
The Newsroom Suites is THE place to stay in Prince Edward County in my mind.
It’s a unique boutique hotel giving you local bed and breakfast vibes in the safety of a luxury hotel.
Plus, you can’t get a better location than this – on Main Street in Wellington Ontario.
4.Twin Birch Suites & Cottages
But if you want to escape the city life completely, get cabin vibes at Twin Birch Suites and Cottages.
You get an entire cottage to yourself, and some even have a private patio on the lake.
The best part though? Even though you’re in a private cabin on the lake, you’re still centrally located in Wellington. So you’re not totally secluded from society.

Top Hotels In Bloomfield Ontario
Similar to Wellington, Bloomfield is maybe even a bit smaller neighbourhood in Prince Edward County Ontario.
It’s sandwiched in the middle, inland, from Picton and Wellington. It makes a good middle ground if you’re interested in exploring more of the county!
5. Empire Inn & Suites
Get an entire apartment to yourself (and for your family) when you stay at the Empire Inn & Suites.
You get a fully equipped kitchen and some even have a private terrace, making it perfect for longer stays as well!

Middle Of Nowhere Places To Stay In Prince Edward County
If you’re coming to Prince Edward County for a city escape, then maybe you don’t want to stay in any of the neighbourhoods.
So these are the the best places to stay in Prince Edward County that are more or less in the middle of nowhere!
6. The Eddie Hotel And Farm
Although technically in Bloomfield, The Eddie Hotel And Farm is really in the middle of nowhere between both Wellington and Bloomfield.
If you stayed here, you’re a drive from both cities.
It’s perfect for larger families, with the Family Bungalow sleeping up to 5 people.
Because it’s in the middle of nowhere in Prince Edward County Ontario, they serve breakfast (for an additional fee) and there’s even an onsite bar to enjoy!
7. Owl’s Nest Suites
Welcome to what I call rustic luxury in Prince Edward County Ontario!
Owl’s Nest Suites is a luxury cabin in the woods with handmade furniture.
If you want the escape to nature without any of the headache of camping, book your stay here.
8. Unique Stay: The Prince Edward County Church
You can actually rent an ENTIRE church for your family trip to Prince Edward County (although it will cost you!).

Money Saving Hack Prince Edward County Hotels: Stay In Belleville Ontario
If you’re like me and would rather stay at a name brand hotel, opt to stay in Belleville instead of booking a hotel in Prince Edward County.
Sure, one of a kind boutique hotels or local bed and breakfasts are nice, but you aren’t always in the mood to stay at one.
Belleville Ontario is right off the highway before Prince Edward County (you literally have to drive through it to get there!), so it’s about a 10 minute drive.
But even if you stay somewhere in Prince Edward County, you most likely have to drive where you’re going anyway.
Plus, I think the nightlife is equivalent in both Belleville and Prince Edward County. We actually found some really great restaurants in Belleville that I would recommend going to. You have to go to The Boathouse Seafood Restaurant & Waterfront Patio and The Pier Patio Bar & Grill.

The closest hotel in Belleville is the Ramada by Wyndham Belleville Harbourview Conference Centre, it’s right off the Belleville Bay Bridge. If you stay here, you barely lose any time by staying in Belleville. The downside is that it doesn’t have the best reviews… see it on Booking.com.

9. The Hampton Inn Belleville
We stayed at the Hampton Inn in Belleville and it was perfect. It was right off the 401 which made it quick to get to and easy to leave.
It was about a 10 minute drive to Prince Edward County, but you barely felt the extra driving time!
It’s also pet friendly (and we were travelling with our cat!). We couldn’t complain about free breakfast in the morning either!
10. TownePlace Suites by Marriott Belleville
If you’re looking for the place with the best reviews in Belleville, it’s actually the TownePlace Suites Hotel.
It’s even a bit closer to Prince Edward County than the Hampton Inn and it has Marriott in the name!
Every suite even comes with an equipped kitchen and breakfast is also included.
It’s really the better Belleville option – but it sadly isn’t pet friendly.
