There are so many fun facts about Barcelona that I bet you’d never heard of before! I learned about most of these while I lived in the city for a month, speaking to locals and going on tours.

Barcelona in December is unbeatable, it’s the perfect destination to escape the winter. So it might not be beach weather in December, but it’s still warm and there aren’t huge crowds.
You can visit Monjuïc for as long as you want. You can make a quick pit stop at the castle, take the Teleferic and that’s it. But there is so much more to this hill! I recommend spending a day visiting the different attractions in your Barcelona itinerary.
Girona (the city) is a lovely day trip from Barcelona. This small medieval town in the province of Girona in the North of Spain just a 30 minute train from Barcelona. It makes an easy day trip with picturesque views and links to Game of Thrones.
We absolutely loved staying in Gràcia during our Barcelona vacation. It’s the perfect neighbourhood if you’re looking to live like a local. Over a one month period, Gràcia truly became our home away from home.
Barcelona was my favourite place for souvenir shopping! It’s all very affordable and locally sourced good quality product. With so much to choose from, it’s good to have an idea of what you want beforehand.
Figueres is an interesting Spanish city to visit. It’s by no means the prettiest or cutest Spanish town I’ve seen. There also isn’t too much to do there. But, if you’re interested in Salvador Dali, then a day trip to Figueres is a must!
The cafe culture in Barcelona is on point! Whether you want a quick pick me up, to catch up with friends, or a good workspace, there’s a coffee shop in Barcelona for you! And despite everything else being super expensive in the city, the cafes aren’t.
At first glance, Barcelona seems like quite an expensive city… and it is. But that doesn’t mean that there aren’t a few money-saving hacks out there for the city.
